In 2000, the Strip Poker game show was broadcast on cable television. It occupied the late weeknights timeslot on the USA Network and subsidiary USA Broadcasting stations. Styled as a general knowledge quiz show, contestants take off not all but some, of their clothing. Although poker hands are used, it has little else in common with other Poker variations.Game contestants also put on several layers of underwear to extend the length of the game. The guys always strip down only to their boxers, and the girls strip down to their skimpy lingerie.
Although the losers shed their clothes, no matter which team wins or loses, all the contestants eventually end up stripping down voluntarily at the end of the show.
Today, there are similar shows like Party Girl Poker, Playboy Strip Poker, Extreme Strip Poker and Lingerie Poker. They follow the basic Strip Poker rules, but add in their own mix of seduction and excitement to attract more viewers.
