Strip Poker Game Show

Posted in Tips & Bits on December 29th, 2008
In 2000, the Strip Poker game show was broadcast on cable television. It occupied the late weeknights timeslot on the USA Network and subsidiary USA Broadcasting stations. Styled as a general knowledge quiz show, contestants take off not all but some, of their clothing. Although poker hands are used, it has little else in common with other Poker variations.

Game contestants also put on several layers of underwear to extend the length of the game. The guys always strip down only to their boxers, and the girls strip down to their skimpy lingerie.

Although the losers shed their clothes, no matter which team wins or loses, all the contestants eventually end up stripping down voluntarily at the end of the show.

Today, there are similar shows like Party Girl Poker, Playboy Strip Poker, Extreme Strip Poker and Lingerie Poker. They follow the basic Strip Poker rules, but add in their own mix of seduction and excitement to attract more viewers.

Free Video Poker

Posted in News From The Poker Pro, Poker Articles on December 10th, 2008
Video Poker is a game where a player plays poker against the machine. The differences between traditional and Video Poker are quite significant as the rules and game play in Video Poker are unique. Video Poker looks like it is similar to machine but in reality It plays differently.

There are a variety of games in video poker in which players can play. For instance, a triple play draw poker can have 10 different ways to play it. It is important for you understand the game before proceeding to play it.

Video Poker is played by slotting coins into the machine, where u will decide how much you want to bet. On confirmation of the bet, you will receive 5 cards. You can either decide to keep or discard the cards. If you decide to discard some cards in your hand, the machine will generate new cards from the deck to replace your discarded ones.

Video Poker is similar to traditional poker as it is based on the value of your hand rankings. The payout is determined by the value of your hand.

There a quite a number of sites offering free video poker, such sites include Big Times Draw Poker, Quick Quads Poker, Spin Poker Deluxe and Super Times Pay.

World Series of Poker (WSOP)

Posted in News From The Poker Pro, Tips & Bits on October 28th, 2008
If you are not sure what time of the year it would be best to visit Las Vegas, let me give a friendly suggestion. Go there during the WSOP season. This is probably the ideal time for a casual poker player to make the journey because of all the exciting action and personalities at the event. Watching the best players in poker at WSOP tourneys is definitely a worthwhile experience. If you just want to see your poker idol in person be it Mike the Mouth or Chris Moneymaker, do not be hesitant to go at the WSOP. There are multitudes of fans that travel great distances just to see the famous pros in flesh. Another reason why visiting Las Vegas during WSOP season is a good idea is because of thepresence of many booths. These stalls offer food, with some of them for free, and a variety of poker-related souvenir items. There are those who go to these events just to find poker items which could become valuable in the years to come.

Bluff Magazine - Lance Bradley

Posted in Poker Articles, Tips & Bits on October 23rd, 2008
Actually, one reason Bluff Magazine is so popular is that it's contributors include very good and imaginative writers, and one of them is no other than Lance Bradley. If you want to make extensive research about him, here are the titles of some of his pieces (with the appearance dates): # Doyle Brunson: The Godfather is made an offer he can't refuse (June 2008) # The Young Guns of the 2008 WSOP (June 2008) # 3 of a kind  (April 2008) # Respect Your Edler # On a Major Mission  (February 2008) # The Tao of David (October 2007) # Erick Lindgren Prop Bet (September 2007) # Land of Logos (July 2007) You may think that his "Respect your Edler" had a typo error. No, Lance Bradley wrote about Bill Edler, a player who not only has a "Mr Nice Guy" image, but who also was was awarded the 2007 Bluff Magazine Player of the Year. Some circles describe Bradley as prescient, for he wrote a long time back about five online "coming men" to watch out in the 2008 WSOP. True enough, these five people all cashed in at one event or another.

WSOP Seats

Posted in Poker Articles, Poker News on October 18th, 2008
The World Series of Poker or WSOP is an event that many fanatics would not want to miss. This is a competition wherein the top poker players vie to get hundreds of dollars as the grand prize. Fans would often look for good WSOP seats just to see their favorite players up close. Luckily, there are many stores that sell tickets for big WSOP events. Thus, they have excellent areas for WSOP seats. These prime areas allow the viewer to see the facial expressions of all the competitors. However, they would not be able to see the poker hands of the players. Only the television viewers are able to look at the player’s hand. Due to the popularity of poker, many people are emulating the games they seen on TV. They try to follow the strategy of the winning players. This is a good practice because this allows them to become better at poker.
